Because every thread counts. Reclaimed and Recycled Textiles.
Hand Woven Rag Rugs and a WHOLE LOT MORE.
Sometimes the simplest methods are the best. That is why all the weaving at Crazy as a Loom Weaving Studio is done on antique looms, the old fashioned way. While it is a working studio, visitors are always welcome. There are literally tons of fabric, and many projects in progress. It is all about color and texture. I have 15 looms.....at last count, over 10,000 lbs of fabric, 2600 square feet to work in. Life is good!!!

Come on in.........watch me make a rug!!!
We do a lot of different weaving at Crazy as a Loom. Most of what we weave is from recycled materials.
We make Adirondack Rugs from the selvedge edges of upholstery material. Our Kingsbury cotton rugs are made from cotton fabrics from several different sources including mill ends, and leftover fabrics from other artisans.
Our blue jean rugs are woven from actual discarded blue jeans, cut and sewn together.
Then, of course, there are the Solmate socks. We have been inspired by their vibrant colors. In addition to weaving the Chunky rugs, the Walking on Sunshine rugs, the Sherbert rugs, and the Sweet Bottoms, we also make several kits.
Our favorite is the Hip to Be Square looper loom. Then there's the Hip to Be Square Rag Rug kit and the Walking on Sunshine Braided Rug Kit.
And most recently, we have Prime Mate, the SOCK MONKEY, who is a "Chimp off the Old Sock"......and the SOCKETBOOK, a funky, fun purse in three sizes.
Did I mention, shawls, scarves, placemats, table runners, anywhere mats, mug mats, baby blankets, dish towels???
There is always something new in the works, the ideas just keep coming.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
